The short version
MEDPROS stands for Medical Protection System. It is the Army's database that tracks the medical and dental readiness of every Soldier. Commanders use it to see, at a glance, whether a unit is ready for a mission.
The color code
- GREEN Ready and up to date.
- AMBER Something needs attention soon.
- RED Something is overdue, and you are not counted as ready.
From your first day in, staying green is part of your job. It mostly means showing up to scheduled exams and keeping your shots current.
What it tracks
Immunizations, annual dental checks and physicals, labs, vision, and basic data like blood type. None of it is exotic. All of it counts toward whether you deploy.
PULHES, the score inside it
MEDPROS also carries your PULHES physical profile, set at your entry physical. Six letters, one number each, 1 through 4, where 1 means no limits:
- P Physical capacity
- U Upper extremities
- L Lower extremities
- H Hearing and ears
- E Eyes and vision
- S Psychiatric
Why this matters before you sign
Your medical history review is part of the Zero Packet for a reason. Knowing your own record, and having the documents to back it up, is the difference between a clean entry physical and weeks of chasing paperwork. Sit down with Cadre and get it sorted early.
